My adoration of four-footed friends extends to works of art as well, and especially to these gorgeous animals (an aardvard and a tapir) in the gallery now.  They’re made in Costa Rica, by Loli Fernandez, who carves the jicara fruit shell, and her son, Pacao Lazaro, who paints the wood legs, head and tail.  These works, and many other fabulous carvings shown at the gallery through the years, are made by members of the Brunka indigenous goup in Costa Rica…..animals
